Position Overview
As an IBM Software Sales Expert, you will be responsible for driving sales and business development activities related to IBM software products and solutions. You will leverage your deep understanding of IBM’s software offerings to identify customer needs, propose tailored solutions, and close sales to meet or exceed revenue targets. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical acumen and excellent sales skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve sales targets for IBM software products.
- Customer Engagement: Identify and engage potential customers through cold calling, networking, and other sales techniques.
- Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of customer needs and requirements to recommend suitable IBM software solutions.
- Solution Proposal: Prepare and present compelling proposals and demonstrations of IBM software solutions to prospective clients.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
- Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to stay informed and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Collaboration: Work closely with technical teams, marketing, and other internal departments to ensure a cohesive approach to sales and customer satisfaction.
- Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales records, forecasts, and reports using CRM software.
- Training and Development: Stay current with IBM software product updates, certifications, and training to maintain expertise and credibility in the market.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in software sales, with a focus on IBM software products.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of IBM software solutions.
- Sales Skills: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, with excellent negotiation and closing skills.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams.
- Travel: Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.
